Important notice to rabbit owners: Two Ramsey Co. pet rabbits died suddenly earlier in September 2021 from a highly contagious rabbit disease detected for the first time in MN: Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus 2 (RHDV2). They were indoor pets & had no contact with other rabbits. In July 2022, RHDV2 has been confirmed in (at least) one domestic rabbit in Hennepin County. There is no known risk to humans. Owners should report any unexplained and/or sudden deaths in rabbits to their veterinarian or the Board of Animal Health. If you have any further questions you can contact Gregory R. Suskovic, DVM at 651-238-2503, or communication director Michael Crusan at 651-201-6815. Additional information can also be found at https://www.rhdv2.com/
Please discuss with your vet if your rabbit(s) need nail trims or scent gland cleanings.
